Living on the hill has its challenges. Winter can be so drying to hair, skin, and nails. Fireplaces, heaters, and dry mountain air can be hard on us. Doing hair up here in Idyllwild has its challenges but, the insight I have gained hopefully can benefit you. I have a few tips that might help keep that dryness away.

What we put in our bodies is as important as what we put in our bodies. Collagen is a vital protein that our body naturally produces, but as we age, our collagen production decreases. This is where supplements come in, as they can help provide the necessary building blocks for our body to produce collagen. Bone broth is another excellent source of collagen that can be easily incorporated into your diet.

Apart from collagen, several other foods can help improve the health of your hair, skin, and nails. Cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts, are packed with vitamins and minerals that can do wonders for your skin and hair. Fermented or roasted cruciferous vegetables can add a delicious, healthy twist to your meals.

Sweet potatoes are another fantastic food item that can aid in healthy hair, skin, and nails. They are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in our body, and helps promote healthy skin and hair.

Soaked nuts and soaked pumpkin seeds are also excellent choices for healthy hair and skin. Soaking these nuts and seeds reduces the phytic acid content, making them easier to digest and absorb the nutrients.

Eggs are a great source of protein, biotin, and vitamin D, all of which contribute to healthy hair and skin. Citrus fruits, such as oranges and lemons, are packed with vitamin C, which is essential for collagen production and helps keep your skin looking youthful.

I am currently developing a pre-wash scalp massage oil that works wonders. I have observed healthy hair growth in individuals who have struggled to achieve it due to various factors. The essential oils used in the formula are all-natural, organic, and have healing properties for the scalp and body. They possess natural antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial qualities. Additionally, the carrier oils used are moisturizing and healing and help create shiny, luxurious hair. I am currently working on two unique formulas, one for curly hair and one for straight hair. Pre-orders for these products will be available soon.
